Book Snippet #5: It’s OK Not to Be Perfect

Life gets busy, work takes over, family responsibilities arise and before you know it, the week has come and gone. Common reactions to the things you wanted to do but didn’t get around to? Guilt. Frustration. That little voice in your head saying, “You should have made time for it.”

What I did was stop. Take a breath. And remind myself of something important—it’s OK not to be perfect.

This is something I talk about in my book. We set goals, build habits and try to show up consistently, but life happens. We get tired. We get busy. And sometimes, things don’t go to plan. That doesn’t mean we’ve failed. It just means we’re human.

“Perfection isn’t the goal, progress is. Life isn’t about getting everything right all the time; it’s about showing up as best as you can, when you can, and being kind to yourself along the way.”

So, if you’ve had a week where things didn’t go to plan, whether it’s missing a workout, skipping meditation, or forgetting something important, let this be your reminder:

You don’t have to be perfect to be making progress.

Your Action Today

Take a moment to acknowledge where you’ve been too hard on yourself recently. Let it go. Celebrate what you have done instead.

Today’s Thought

“Perfection is an illusion. Consistency, kindness, and showing up when you can, that’s what matters most.”

Until next time.
